SI Manassas Installs 2018-2019 Officers

Margaret Glick Dyer performed the installation ceremony for our incoming officers.  Margaret prepared a personalized message for each officer and presented them with a Soroptimist key.  Our new officers are: President Jamilah Dalton, Vice-President Page Couch, Secretary Julie Kowalsi, Treasurer Linda Womack, 2-Year Director Ruth Anne Sawyer and 1-Year Director Diane Bennett.

Soroptimist International of Manassas is honored to announce Jamilah Dalton as our President for 2018-2019.  Jamilah served as Vice-President, Chairperson of the Program Commitee, member of the Public Awareness Committee, initiated the Script fund raising program and Co-Chairs the Dream It, Be It mentoring program for teen-age girls.  Jamilah is the mother of two beautiful daughters and works as a Deputy Sheriff for Fairfax County.

$7,000 Raised at Live Your Dream Awards Dinner

Thanks to our sponsors, donors and guests, Soroptimist International of Manassas raised over $7,000 for our scholarships and programs to aid women and girls.  Comedian Robert Mac kept the audience laughing with his unique insights on the Washington scene and modern life.  Ana Vasquez-Velez and Beatrice Griffin received "Live Your Dream" education grants for women who are enrolled in an undergraduate program or skilled jobs training while supporting their families. Eva Kemel won the Violet Richardson for her outstanding volunteer work.

Live Your Dream Awards Dinner & Comedy Show

Enjoy a special evening of inspiration and comedy.  Soroptimist International of Manassas presents our annual "Live Your Dream Awards Dinner and Comedy Show" on May 5, 2018 at the Stonewall Golf Club.  Featured comedian is Robert Mac, Laugh Riots Grand Prize winner. 

SI Manassas will award two "Live Your Dream" education grants.  The grant is for women enrolled in higher education while supporting their families.
